This one conjured up images of my hair stylist (or whatever one calls such people) who is flamboyently gay and wants his mother to not let anyone know what he does for a living, because, as he says, she is such bad advertising; she refuses to part with her "old lady" haircut, no matter how much he pleads with her to let him fix it.
